How to extend Samsung Galaxy S2 battery

By default, the Samsung Galaxy S2 battery usage is quite intense. It would last approx. 1 day. Here is some quick tips to get more out of your phone.

  • Disable fast dormancy. (Enter *#9900# from dialer, and select “Disable fast dormancy”
  • The most important one is data (internet) especially 3G. You don’t need data when sleeping. A build-in way to quick turn off data on your Galaxy S2 is to: Hold in your power button (right side of phone) when your device is already powered on. You will receive a quick menu, where you disable your Data network easily.
  • Check your update frequency of your synced accounts. Like; Exchange, other mail, Facebook ect: Settings > Accounts & Sync. Check every account and change the sync to not update too frequently.
  • You can switch 2G/3G: The Standby time on 2G is a lot more than on 3G. Although the internet speed is supper slow. This could help if your requirements is more battery life on the Galaxy S2 than internet speed.
  • Automatic Brightness is always a good option on Android phones to save battery.
  • Enable your power saving mode.
  • Don’t play games all the time :)

I hope this helps you a bit. Most of the new users on Galaxy S2′s blame the battery. But actually the phone not optimized.

PS. My Galaxy S2 last on average 2  and a half days.  And max 3 days.

Some applications will be open no matter what. (in your memory) This is true because, when you clear your memory and check press the home button, you will notice that your launcher reloads, loads in memory. That includes dialer, widgets ect.
